Kip Hawley

With a long history of public service, which includes time as the Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration, Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan, and Acting Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs, Kip Hawley has significantly contributed to the safety and operation of the United States government over the course of his career. In addition to these significant accomplishments in the public sector, Mr. Hawley has also made a name for himself in the business world.

Following his service at the White House, first as Special Assistant and later as Deputy Assistant to the President, Kip Hawley joined the Citigroup Inc. Consumer Banking Group as Vice President and Chief of Staff for the company’s Mid-Atlantic Region. In this position, Mr. Hawley held responsibility for the direction of the finance, operations, and legal teams at Citigroup. The regional office administered more than $1 billion in mortgages under his leadership.

Following his time at Citigroup, Kip Hawley accepted a series of executive positions with major national railroad companies. From August 1987 to December 1991, Mr. Hawley acted as Vice President of External Affairs for Union Pacific Corporation. He oversaw public policy initiatives for the company’s rail, truck, hazardous waste, logistics, and energy divisions. In January 1992, Kip Hawley accepted a role as Vice President of Transportation Services for Union Pacific Railroad Company in Omaha, Nebraska. For the next 18 months, Mr. Hawley managed the entire rail network’s operations. He succeeded in achieving the highest service levels in company history while also exceeding financial expectations.

Kip Hawley went on to serve with distinction as Vice President of Re-Engineering with Union Pacific Railroad Company and President and Chief Executive Officer of Skyway Freight Systems, Inc. In the latter position, which he held from January 1995 to November 1998, Mr. Hawley led a firm-wide turnaround that enabled the transportation/warehouse company to position itself at the forefront of the information-based supply chain management solution industry.

Kip Hawley has also served as a Member of the Board of Directors for Casbah, Inc., and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Arzoon, Inc.
