Kyle Kipple

Student and Weather Forecaster in Gainesville, Florida

Support my candidate

Hi there! My name is Kyle, and I am a student at the University of Florida. I am a BS Geography major graduating at the end of 2020. I plan on earning the title of meteorologist, which has been my dream job since a child.

A large portion of my free time is spent with the UF Weather Center as a student forecaster and producer. Catch me on weekday nights as a weather talent for WUFT's First at Five news program or providing the forecast on various radio stations across north-central Florida. Our weather team is active during statewide weather events for public media stations, including the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network (FPREN / @FloridaStorms) and the South Carolina Emergency Information Network (SCEIN).

In addition to weather, I work seasonally as a Tax Professional for Liberty Tax Service. I recently began amateur radio, call sign KN4PYC. Fun fact -- I (usually) always keep an Ultimate disk in my car!

For most of my life, I have been a member of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), earning the rank of Eagle Scout in 2014. I staffed council summer/winter camps for a number of seasons and assist the council 'National Camp Assessment Program' committee and district Popcorn committee. In the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's "national honor society," I serve as a key volunteer for the OA's national communications committee. I previously served as Publisher of the National Bulletin, now Editor-In-Chief and working on our latest edition to define of essence of the Order of the Arrow.

Public media has become a growing interest as I think about my future, as well as joining the Air Force meteorology unit, but nothing deviates from the goal of earning the title as a National Weather Service meteorologist. Let's see what life has in store!
