Kirby Bunnell

Hey, my name is Kirby Bunnell. I graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2016 with a bachelors degree in English and Elementary Education. I am currently in my third semester at University of Central Missouri studying Library Media.

I have preciously worked as a Teaching Assistant at a private school where I worked closely with the kindergarten and first grade teachers to create and teach lessons. I then worked at a kindergarten to second grade school where I worked with students who were reading above grade Level. Here I worked with students on their comprehension. Currently, I work at a PreK to second grade school where I work as an interventionist. Every day I work with a small group of students who are performing below grade level in both reading and math. In the group we work on foundational skills that will help them read the grade level benchmarks.

In the future I hope to have my own elementary grade level class, and ultimately work as an elementary school librarian. I am really looking forward to this class and the different skills that I will gain from completing the work as well as from my classmates. I am excited to begin!
