Kirk Haskins
Kirk Haskins is the business education consultant for the Kansas Department of Education. Kirk delivers professional business educational consultive services to public educational institutions, educational related organizations and associations, government agencies, and the general public. His primary purpose is to interpret state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures as they relate to the Kansas Department of Education and the business educational programs of the state.
For 18 years, Kirk has built a professional career by successfully managing units and personnel in both private and public sectors. As the former director of admissions for Washburn University (WU), he transformed the recruitment organization and grew enrollment at Washburn to all-time records in 2005. During his tenure, Kirk introduced more modern and efficient approaches to attract and enroll prospect students. As project lead for the institution, he oversaw the successful implementation of SunGard's Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Bringing 15 years teaching and advising students on both the secondary and post-secondary levels, he has been an adjunct professor at Washburn's School of Business since 2001. Before joining WU, he was the program director for Youth Entrepreneurs of Kansas (YEK), a non-profit organization based in Wichita, KS that provided resources and tools to help high school educators teach students about the benefits of being an entrepreneur. While at YEK, he helped deliver their program to over 1500 high school students.
Kirk earned a Bachelors of Arts from Washburn and a Master of Business Administration from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS. In 2014, he will complete his Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration from University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS.
