Kirsten Galef
Diligent and dedicated, Kirsten Galef of Connecticut focuses on raising her children, furthering her professional career, and participating in a range of charitable activities. A graduate of Smith College, Kirsten Galef regularly participates in a number of charitable initiatives.
Kirsten Galef has engaged in and donated to fund-raisers for a wide variety of organizations, contributing to such groups as Community Health at Greenwich Hospital’s wellness programs and Southampton Hospital’s President’s Committee. One of the causes she supports most earnestly includes Southampton Fresh Air Home, a four-acre summer camp designed and operated specifically for children with physical disabilities. Serving as the Southampton Fresh Air Home’s Vice President and a Director, Kirsten Galef participates in regular charitable work for the 501(c)(3) camp, ranging from the solicitation of donations to the organization of benefit parties and events.
An integral part of the fund-raising work Kirsten Galef and her executive colleagues engage in for the Southampton Fresh Air Home is the development, promotion, and organization of benefit events. Each year, the nonprofit holds several popular celebrations and get-togethers, such as the annual Decorators-Designers-Dealers sale, auction, and cocktail party and the yearly American picnic, which features a show by Fireworks by Grucci. The nonprofit camp depends on these events and others for nearly two-thirds of its operational and management funding. Kirsten Galef also helps spearhead other activities for the Southampton Fresh Air Home, including managing volunteers and soliciting antiques, art, and other items for the Decorators-Designers-Dealers benefit.
