I’m a life-long New Yorker, the proud mother of 2 young boys and it’s my honor to represent New York in the US Senate.
As US Senator, I fight for New Yorkers every day, but I also feel it’s important to regularly reach out to my constituents wherever they are, whether online or in their own communities. It’s why I hold Senate at Your Supermarket events, conduct video chats on my Facebook page, share everything from my votes on bills to my kids’ Halloween costumes on Twitter and it’s why I blog regularly on sites like DailyKos and The Huffington Post.
I’m also passionate about getting more women involved in public life. Whether it be voting, writing letters to the editor or running for office, it's crucial that more women make their voices heard on the issues they care about. That’s why I created Off The Sidelines, a campaign to urge more women to get involved so that our voices are a part of the debate and we have a seat at the table when decisions are being made that impact every aspect of our lives.
