Kirsten Winkler is the founder and editor of EDUKWEST, an online media site that features startups, trends and interviews with innovators and thought leaders in the education space. Over the years Kirsten has recorded over 200 interviews with startup founders for EDUKWEST.
Covering online education since early 2009 Kirsten Winkler quickly became one of the preeminent blogger in education 2.0, earning her the “Best New Blog” title at the Edublog Awards 2009.
Kirsten also writes the Disrupt Education blog for the renown online publication Big Think, one of the Top 100 websites of Time Magazine in 2011.
She is also one of the first educators who used YouTube as an educational platform. Her Deutsch Happen project that launched in 2008 has gathered more than a million views up to today and is available for learners of German as a foreign language free of charge.
Furthermore, Kirsten Winkler joined several education startups and nonprofits as advisor.
