Kiryl Mikhalkevich

Kiryl Mikhalkevich was born in Belarus in 1984 and moved to the United States in 2005 to build a better future. He settled in San Diego, where he eventually founded Route 66 Moving and Storage. The company now serves a wide range of communities throughout the region, including La Jolla, Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, San Marcos, Carmel Valley, Poway, and Rancho Santa Fe, while also handling larger relocations across Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Before beginning his career in the United States, Mikhalkevich pursued higher education in his home country. He studied at the Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk and graduated from an institution widely recognized for its contributions to medical education and scientific research. His academic experience helped develop the focus, discipline, and determination that later became valuable qualities in his entrepreneurial career.

Beyond the moving and storage industry, Mikhalkevich has spent more than a decade working in real estate development. His projects have included building high-end custom homes in well-known coastal communities such as Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, and La Jolla. These projects reflect his interest in long-term investment and community growth, while also expanding his professional activities beyond his primary business.

The inspiration behind Route 66 Moving and Storage comes from the historic highway that once carried thousands of travelers across the United States. Route 66 symbolized opportunity and the hope of a fresh start for many families who traveled west to California. As someone who also journeyed to America in search of new possibilities, Kiryl Mikhalkevich chose the name to represent resilience, determination, and the pursuit of opportunity.

Since launching the company in 2008, he has focused on delivering reliable service and creating a positive customer experience during what can often be a stressful time. Known by many clients as Mike, he emphasizes transparency, responsiveness, and clear communication throughout each move. Outside of work, he enjoys flying as a certified private pilot and remains committed to supporting the San Diego community that helped shape his success.
