Growing up on a sheep farm in the deep south of New Zealand's South Island, I learned the fundamental practice of firstly growing food, then the essential practice of preparation and maximization of what the product had to offer, whether fish or meat, fruit or vegetable. Following an early exit from high school I signed up for, and completed a 4 year culinary apprenticeship. From there a life full of travel, mad experiences and education ensued. Today, I create and enhance landscapes, and work to integrate indoor living spaces with the outdoors through a variety of mediums. I also collaborate with my beautiful wife Stephanie where together we host unique & original dining events in the beautiful and remote San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State.
