Kixi Rajki (born 12 November 1986) is an Australian interpreter, translator, linguist, and amateur astrophysicist, known for her work in language services, IT, and science outreach. Born in Sisak, Croatia, to a Croatian-Italian father and Italian mother, she holds Croatian, Italian, and Australian citizenships by descent. After spending her early years in Australia and part of her teens in Croatia, she returned to Australia permanently. She currently lives in Melbourne with her spouse, Mako Jhasmin Ikeda.

Language Services

Rajki is a certified linguist with extensive experience in interpreting and translation across both community and professional sectors. Fluent in English, Italian, Spanish, and Croatian, she brings cultural insight and linguistic precision to every assignment. She also has working knowledge of German, allowing her to engage effectively in multilingual environments. Her ability to navigate complex language dynamics ensures clarity, empathy, and professionalism in her communication.

Before transitioning into the field of linguistics, Rajki built a solid career in the Information Technology industry. As an I.T. Specialist, she gained deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in digital systems, infrastructure, and support, which continue to inform her methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving.

Astrophysics and Academia

A passionate science enthusiast, Rajki has pursued part-time academic studies in astrophysics. Her areas of focus include extragalactic astronomy, cosmology, gravitational wave data analysis, Bayesian inference, mathematical modelling, and statistical physics. She also has teaching experience in astrophysics and regularly engages in public science education, aiming to make complex scientific concepts accessible to broader audiences.

Rajki is deeply inspired by science fiction, particularly franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek, which have influenced her creative pursuits in writing and art. She is an author of science fiction novels, short stories, and articles, and also creates digital artwork and designs. Outside her professional work, she enjoys video gaming, cosplaying, and motorsport culture. She is also a dedicated martial artist, holding a first and second dan black belt in Aikido (Iwama Ryu, attained in 2009 and 2012), a first dan in Kenjutsu (Tatsumi Ryu, 2016), and a first dan in Kendo (2021).
