kIYOSHI UTSUNOMIYA

1979年1月28日 "造船"と"海上自衛隊"と"肉じゃが"の広島県呉市にある小さな港町に生まれる。

「勉強するにも世界を見るにも元気な体が必要」「勉強はそのうち興味を持てばするだろう」
という両親の方針で、勉強よりも体作りを優先でたくさんご飯を食べさせてもらい、大きく丸々と成長する。
※小さい時の大好物は、母の作る大きなコロッケ。量を食べていたときは、1度に10個近く食べていたとのこと。もちろん大盛りのご飯付き。そりゃ太る。

やんちゃに過ごした子供時代、大きな怪我をすることなく無事に高校卒業し、仕事をしながら、勉強をしながらで広島から大阪、大阪から東京と移動。2005年に念願だったカナダのバンクーバーに渡る。

一人でまったく言葉の通じない国に行き、初めて「生きていくうえで、アピールすることの大切さ、
メッセージを発信することの大切さ」が身に染みた一年を過ごす。
※言葉がうまく通じず、ご飯を食べることに苦労したり、風邪をひいたときは病院探しに大変な思いをする。
もちろん向こうでの就職活動はうまくいかず、ストレスフルな毎日。

素敵な国ではあったが、日本とまったく環境が違い、「何も言わなくても察してくれる」ということがなかったため、カナダ出発前のシャイな性格も、帰国の頃には、少しはずうずうしく（？）自己主張できるよう成長（笑）。

バンクーバーでの悔しい経験から、【メッセージを持つこと、情報を発信すること＝自己主張すること】の重要性を人としてだけでなく、デザインの領域でも感じる。

「より成長させたい！！」との思いから、シビアで挑戦的な環境を求め独立
