Kjirstin Breure
Board Chair, President, and CEO in Vancouver, BC
Hi, I’m Kjirstin Breure, and I have the privilege of serving as the Board Chair, President, and CEO of HydroGraph Clean Power Inc., based in Vancouver, BC. HydroGraph is leading us into a new era of nanotechnology that is already transforming society in the same way that our mastery of stone, bronze, iron, plastics, and silicon has done in the past. Our process for developing pristine graphene will revolutionize how we build, power, and connect our world.
My journey with HydroGraph began in 2020, when I joined as the company’s first employee and Chief Operating Officer. It was truly a leap of faith - no team, no blueprint, just the vision of bringing a breakthrough technology out of the lab and into the marketplace. I was responsible for setting our strategic direction, designing the brand, and shaping our research roadmap. Today, I’m honored to lead a growing team of scientists, engineers, and innovators who are commercializing our patented detonation process, producing graphene of unrivaled purity and unlocking applications across multiple industries.
Pristine graphene is stronger than steel yet nearly transparent, more conductive than copper yet flexible enough to bend. At HydroGraph, we see its potential in everything from next-generation electronics and energy storage to sustainable composites and clean technology solutions. Just as importantly, our process is eco-friendly, efficient, and scalable, helping us meet the demand for advanced materials without compromising the environment.
I hold an MSc in Materials Science and Engineering from Arizona State University and have over a decade of experience in emerging fields, including machine learning, blockchain, and data analytics. I’ve consulted for and held leadership roles in several Canadian start-ups, including Theorem Synthetic Intelligence, Omada Technologies, and Macht10, where I learned first-hand how to build resilient teams, scale innovation, and drive new technologies toward market readiness.
What motivates me today is the same drive that first drew me to materials science: the belief that better materials create a better world. I’m passionate about translating complex scientific breakthroughs into real-world solutions that improve lives, open new markets, and do so sustainably. We are still at the very beginning of this journey, but I’m confident that pristine graphene will prove to be one of the defining technologies of our time—and I’m thrilled to help lead the charge.
