Kostas Karpouzis

Athens, Attica, Greece

In my day job, I'm looking for ways to make computer and robotic systems more aware of and responsive to the way people interact with each other, using natural, affective interaction and low-tech hardware, such as web cams and mobile devices. I'm also investigating how digital games can be used in classroom settings to assist conventional teaching and teach social issues to children.

Besides this, I'm involved in a number of science communication activities, most notably Famelab Greece and openscience.gr, the leading Greek website on science communication. I'm also an advocate for technology and CS in primary schools, participating in the 'Girls Go Coding' initiative to attract girls and female adults to coding.
