I am a sustainability enthusiast who believes businesses have the power to create social and environmental change.

As corporate social responsibility intern at Happy Family Brands, a leading organic baby food company in Boise, Idaho, I influenced projects that mitigated the company’s environmental impact. I identified an opportunity to use waste-to-energy technology to responsibly dispose of more than 9,500 pounds of plastic packaging at a production facility. Based on my performance, I was invited to moderate the company’s panel on sustainable packaging in the food industry, attended by more than 90 students and professionals at the 2015 Net Impact Conference.

I was also assistant general manager at MOM’s Organic Market, a family-owned and locally-operated grocery store in Alexandria, VA. To build brand relations in the local community, I started an outreach program for employees and residents. I partnered with a local bike co-op to launch a Bike to Work Day event to encourage employees to use carbon-free transportation. My employees biked more than 100 miles round trip as part of the campaign.

I will graduate in June 2016 with a Master in Business Administration from the University of Oregon, recently ranked as the “Best Green MBA” program by the Princeton Review. I am seeking an operations role in a company passionate about and committed to sustainability.
