K.L. Jordan

A Detroit native, Kari L. Jordan received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan Technological University and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Engineering Education. She is a GEM Doctoral Fellow, King-Chavez-Parks Future Faculty Fellow, and is currently funded by the National Science Foundation Engineering Education and Centers Division. Her research experience includes engineering for sustainability, and she is currently studying engineering self-efficacy of minority students at predominantly white institutions. Jordan is a woman with a mission, a message, and a mantra. Her mission is advocacy, her message is equality, and her mantra is, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." The three add up to an ethic that both challenges and fulfills her. Jordan has traveled to Ghana, Sweden, Denmark, China, England, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Chile and the Dominican Republic.
