PhD Candidate in Law and Attorney in New Haven, Connecticut
I am currently pursuing my PhD in law at Yale Law School, where I am also a Resident Fellow at the Information Society Project. Previously, I clerked for the Honorable Richard C. Wesley of the Second Circuit and the Honorable Eric N. Vitaliano of the Eastern District of New York. I graduated from Georgetown University Law Center, where I was a Senior Editor at The Georgetown Law Journal and the Founding Editor of the The Georgetown Law Journal Online.
Before law school I worked in journalism and wrote for many publications including Slate, The Guardian, Talking Points Memo, and ABC News. I have a Bachelors of Arts with Honors from Brown University, where I also did demonstrated coursework in cognitive neuroscience.
My present research draws on this past interest, applying theoretical and/or empirical cognitive psychology research to the law, specifically in the areas of intellectual property, evidence, statutory interpretation, social norms, and criminal law. My work in cognitive psychology and the law has also led me to questions involving robotics, artificial intelligence, shaming, and Internet norms on free expression.
