Houston, TX

I am 25 years old and from Houston, TX. I received my Associates in Arts from The Florida State University and graduated from The University of Houston with a B.S in Biological Science in 2013. I am currently enrolled at the Texas A&M University at Prairie View to complete some requirements needed for Veterinary school,as well as for personal enrichment.

I currently work as a Veterinary Assistant/Technician at Banfield Pet Hospital to gain exposure of the veterinary medicine world with the aspiration to one day become a DVM from an accredited veterinary program in the United States. I have interest in Developmental Biology and spent 2 years in a research lab studying the role of DGCR8 in the developing neural ectoderm of Xenopus leavis with Dr. Amy Sater. I hope to one day own my own veterinary practice and am also interested in doing research in developmental biology . In addition to being a scientist, I am also a reader and writer.

Even though I am always busy with my studies and work, I make time to enjoy myself with video games (The Legend of Zelda dominating my preference) and to read (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings to name two)whenever I can. During football season you can find me in my Houston Texans garb cheering on my home team.

I was a musician/violinist for 7 years and now play as a hobby rather than for performances. I am currently teaching myself how to play a 6-hole and 12-hole double tenor Ocarina.

I'm quite adventurous and always am looking for adventures or something exhilarating to do. I'm not afraid to take risks. This usually ends up with a wonderful story to add to my many experiences.

In a nutshell, I suppose I am a student, a Biologist, and an Adventurer.
