K Mike G

NYC

Rarely do you find a drummer whose musical ability and creativity reach far beyond the drum set. A musician’s musician, Keith Michael (KMikeG) has mastered the art of the blend. Using his roots as a catalyst for his vision, he has paired his Brooklyn- born beats with a soulful Philly vibe.

Born in 1983 in Brooklyn NY, Keith was destined for musical greatness. You could say his gifts were inherited. Born into a family of musicians, his father played the piano, bass and guitar while his grandmother and mother were both drummers. Although surrounded by a variety of instruments, it was at the age of three that he discovered his love for drums. Using everything from knives and spoons on his mother’s pots and pans, to pens on the couch, it was inevitable that he would become a drumming sensation. By the age of six, never having formal lessons, Keith began playing drums for his church. He looked forward to attending church on the Sabbath mornings when he was able to mold his gift. He also joined the school band, where he impressed teachers and classmates with his performances. He continued playing the drums throughout his school years.
