Ashley Royal
I finally decided to quit hiding behind pseudonyms and use my real name as the author. Writing into the genre fiction helped.
My career was municipal finance officer in Alaska. My interests include nature, science, personal experience stories, fishing and vintage skiffs and a lot more. A few of my favorite authors are Joseph Campbell, Carl Sagan and Lewis & Clark.
For the two years I was retired I spent summers in SE Alaska, and winters on the farm in Georgia. I'll continue that routine when I retire again.
In the meantime, I'm back in Alaska working as a consultant and problem solver, which also provides the opportunity to finish a book I've been working on for over seven years.
Crunching numbers by day, words evenings and weekends, watching the seasons change on the mountain from my picture window, fifteenth floor Begich Towers Whittier, Alaska.
Roaring waterfalls at the height of summer from snowmelt runoff and rain, occasional fierce winds and earth tremors accentuated on the top floor, the mountainside changing from green, to brown, to gray, then to white, and the waterfall turns to ice, all provide inspiration.
I bought a set of Bose speakers to plug into my computer and a "prescription" to Hearts of Space, and enjoy the ambiance as I write.
So, I'm postponing my other interests and concentrating on the book in my spare time this winter.
A synopsis of the story is on my WordPress webpage .
