Mary Hayes
Software Engineer in Austin, Texas
December 2012, B.S. Computer Science graduate from the University of Houston.
From January 2008 to August 2013, I worked with Thomson Reuters. My 5 year and 8 month journey with Thomson Reuters started as a Customer Service Specialist and eventually lead to a Software Developer in .NET/Documentation Writer/Feature Designer.
In August 2013, I decided to leave Thomson Reuters to pursue my dream of becoming a web applications developer using Ruby on Rails. In May 2014, I was given the opportunity to fulfill that dream with Molecule Software as a full stack web developer.
At Molecule Software, I've been lucky to work multiple technologies and even picked up some DevOps skills. My day-to-day consists of working with AWS, Ember.js, Ruby on Rails, Kubernetes, Scala and Go.
As if that wasn't enough, from August 2015 to July 2018 I worked with The Weirdlings as a video contributor and live stream host. With the Weirdlings I wrote and produced 52 videos on board games and maintained a steady streaming schedule of twice a week. During my live streams with The Weirdlings I was able to share my love of programming by playing CodinGame (codingame.com), running small projects, contributing to open source, and of course playing programming games,
If I'm not coding (which is rare these days) you can find me either at my spinning wheel or with knitting needles in hand.
