Andrew Knot

Linz, Austria

Based in Linz, Austria, Andrew Knot teaches English to Austrian high school students through the Austrian Ministry of Arts, Education, and Culture. Fluent in German, he has served in his current position since September 2012. Prior to this time, Andrew Knot served as a Communications Associate with the Acton Institute, a not-for-profit research think tank in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that focuses on public policy around free-market economics, religious faith, and morality. In this role, Mr. Knot wrote and edited an array of communications for the organization. He transitioned to the Acton Institute from Bruce Buursma Communications, where he fulfilled a variety of responsibilities that include editing marketing copy, composing website material, and facilitating interviews.

Moreover, Mr. Knot served as a Sports Information Assistant with the Calvin College Sports Information Department in Grand Rapids. He wrote feature stories and game recaps, and hosted live broadcasts for Calvin College athletics teams. In addition, he won the Hartman Writing Award for outstanding writing in 2011. He also has experience with The Rapidian in Grand Rapids as a writer and editor.

Andrew Knot completed his studies at Calvin College, where he earned a BA in German and English with honors. As a student, he maintained a 3.80 GPA and consistently appeared on the dean's list.
