I was born (in 1959) and raised in the Netherlands, studied sociology, worked extensively on technologies and the human body, moved to knowledge and development cooperation in 2006. I'm always interested in how knowledge can be made to travel between contexts and cultures, and in what happens as knowledge (technologies) moves. I work at the university of Maastricht and I run my own consultancy (www.knowledgetravels.nl).
