Student, Consultant, and Teacher in Brisbane, Australia
I am currently enrolled as a Doctoral student completing a Doctorate in Education through Queensland University of Technology. My thesis will be focusing on exploring how Connected Learning and Social Media can be used effectively by educators to enhance their professional learning, and to transform their perception of themselves as learners.
To do this study, I have taken leave from my position as Librarian for ResourceLink, Brisbane Catholic Education's information and resourcing centre, supporting the staff of all 137 schools and 6 head office locations.
I have also enjoyed working as a sessional academic, tutoring Masters students completing subjects in Connected Learning and Inquiry in Education.
I have over 18 years' experience in Education, and have held roles of classroom teacher, curriculum co-ordinator, teacher-librarian, deputy principal and acting principal.
I have a Graduate Certificate in ICT in Education, a Master of Education in Teacher Librarianship and a Graduate Diploma of Education, as well as a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resource Management and Psychology.
I am passionate about learning, new technologies, information and critical literacy and am an experienced speaker and workshop facilitator, with national and international speaking experience.
