I am currently a 17 year old student living in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I attend Science Leadership Academy, located in Philadelphia. I will be graduating in the summer of 2016.

Besides my school schedule, I enjoy doing things such as reading and writing poetry on my free time. One of my favorite author is Maya Angelou, being it is that I love poetry, and write some of my own. Here is a line from a poem that I have written called Our Sisters, "The woman`s hand slid underneath the rhythm of the drum. The beat bounced violently off the skin of the cow and hummed." Poetry is very close to me and helps me express who I am.

I appreciate being active as well. I love playing Volleyball with my family, and most of all with my school`s team, The Rockets. I have played on the team for 3 years, before my coach appointed me manager. As a manager, I have to be very organized and be able to make sure that every player is up to date with everything. My coach said that I would be a great fit for the position. I also enjoy running with a team that I was apart of called Students Run Philly Style, which is a non-profit club that organizes students to get prepared for marathons and such, and ultimately get kids to be apart of something healthy and constructive.

Looking more on the academic side of things, I want to continue to push and strive to be an awesome student and person as well. I make sure that I keep my grades up and work hard, because I know that it will pay off. Since freshman year, I made it my goal to do schooling at a my dream university.

As I go into my last year of high school, I am very proud of the successes that I have crafted for myself. One of which was that I have I have been a strong volleyball manager now for 2 years, which I can say took a lot of dedication and organization. Also contributing to some of my success is that I am a key organizer for a lot of our school`s huge events, like graduation and prom. I continue to push and reach higher and higher, making sure to always be a leader. I continue to involve myself in opportunities that allow me to grow and learn. I am going to continue this beyond my high school years, because these types of successes can lead to other things.
