Kojo Baffoe

Of Ghanaian/German heritage and raised in Lesotho, Kojo is an African.He has a Bachelor of Commerce (with majors in Economics, Marketing and Business Administration). He has worked and been involved in businesses in a range of sectors including Retail, Management Consulting, Project Management, Publishing, Events, IT, Media (Television & Print) and Entertainment. His activities in these sectors include:

  • Running a shop selling hair products, equipment and cosmetics
  • Managing an IT consulting company focused on biometrics, card technologies and specialised software
  • Being a booker at an actors agency
  • Serving as project manager and communications analyst for a public franchise project at the South African Post Office
  • Running events and fashion shows
  • Developing TV concepts and doing content production for a production house
  • Managing the operations of a weekly newspaper
  • Running and performing at poetry shows, including touring the UK

He has been able to harness these diverse roles and his diverse interests and apply the principles learnt to everything he does. He speaks on various topics ranging from Understanding Media/Content In A Digital World to Identity and Fatherhood. See Services page for greater insight into his talks.

He was poet laureate for Gordon Institute of Business Science, was founding editor of Blaque Magazine, has written for a range of publications including as a columnist (2009 – 2011) for City Press’ lifestyle supplement, 7, is an avid blogger and a social media practitioner. He was part of the team that created and produced Afro Cafe (a music show), Emcee Africa (a pan-African reality music show), Making Moves (an entrepreneurial show), Zooming In On Men (a men’s lifestyle show) and Zwahashu (a lifestyle show). He has been a judge for the Business Arts South Africa (BASA) Awards, the MTN Business App of the Year Awards, Miss South Africa 2014 and the Apple In Education Awards. He’s was involved with Racing…It’s A Rush to help evolve the perception of horse racing.

More recently, he was Editor of the men’s business and lifestyle magazine, Destiny Man, for four years from 2010 and is a director in Kwaya Holdings, an investment and consulting group, positioned to take advantage of opportunities in the publishing, digital, entertainment, fashion, media, events and rights management sectors with particular focus on the African content.
