Dr Salonitis graduated from University of Patras with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 2001 and was awarded a PhD in Manufacturing Processes in 2006. He has worked as a Research Engineer at the University of Patras in a number of research projects funded by the CEU. He has participated in more than 10 projects as Project Manager or Technical Site Manager.
From 2006 to 2010, Dr Salonitis was the Project Manager of an FP6 integrated project (FUTURA) on multi-functional materials processing.
He joined Cranfield University in February 2012 as a Lecturer in Manufacturing Systems. In addition, Dr Salontis has published more than 130 research papers in major international journals and internationally referred conferences and authored two books.
Dr Salontis is a Research Affiliate of the CIRP since 2007, a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the IMechE and the Technical Chamber of Greece. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
