For more than 35 years, Dr. Koock Jung managed a private practice in Queensbury, New York, where he specialized in post-traumatic stress disorder and sexual trauma. He has written on these topics, including a book titled “Sexual Trauma: A Challenge Not Insanity.” During his time managing a private practice, Dr. Koock Jung also served in various capacities at Albany Medical College , including in the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Social Cross-Psychiatry. Prior to moving to New York, he worked at Hillcrest Hospital in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where he provided inpatient care.
Dr. Koock Jung first studied medicine in South Korea at Kyungpook National University School of Medicine, where he earned his MD before serving as a military surgeon in the Vietnam War. Then he moved to the United States and continued his education. He completed a medical internship at the Long Island Jewish Hospital and a psychiatry residency at Albany Medical College. He also practiced family medicine at Rensselaer Family Practice.
Dr. Koock Jung has been recognized for his achievements, earning titles like New York Physician of the Year and a Congressional Order of Merit.
