Pavel Kordík

Pavel Kordík is a Czech computer scientist and entrepreneur passionate about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. With over 21 years at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Pavel has built an extensive academic career, currently serving at the Faculty of Information Technology where he teaches courses such as advanced data mining, and artificial intelligence, emphasizing practical and real-world applications.

He is a co-founder of successful AI-driven companies such as Recombee, specializing in recommender systems with global reach, experts.ai, focused on marketing academic research and edumatch.ai, matchmaking students with real-world opportunities. Pavel is also deeply involved in fostering AI communities as a co-founder of prg.ai, aimed at promoting Prague as an international AI hub, and AIDetem, a non-profit dedicated to leveraging technology for children's benefit.

His research focuses on recommender systems, but also on general machine learning, LLMs, AutoML and other topics. He serves as a principle investigator in 3 EU funded projects.

Outside his professional and research commitments, Pavel enjoys biking, running, cross-country & backland skiing, and ice hockey.
