Korte Wamsley

Serving as the Principal of Savvy Advocacy, Korte Wamsley represents hedge funds, investment banks and private equity firms in the analysis of regulatory issues for utility, clean technology and energy industries. Quite skilfully, Korte Wamsley leverages his unique experience in having advocated on energy issues before 47 state public utility commissions and legislatures, Congress and the federal executive branch. He also advocates for select clients on public affairs matters.

Korte Wamsley is the co-host of the Energy Wakeup podcast, which serves as the Insider’s Guide to Energy Politics.

At Sunrun, Inc. and The Alliance for Smart Computers (TASC), Korte Wamsley served as the Senior Vice President for Public Policy and Power Markets from January 2013 until June 2016. His tenure there put him in charge of overseeing all legislative, regulatory and political affairs for the country’s leading residential solar company. Korte chaired and managed the advocacy group that led the industry-wide advocacy across the nation. Leading all the regulatory aspects for a clean technology initial public offering that raised $250 million, Korte Wamsley managed an in-house team of 21 professionals that worked across 50 states. The team even earned the distinction of being ‘the most robust policy platform in [their] coverage universe’ from the Bank of America.

Korte Wamsley has been recognized by Wall Street Journal as the ‘solar industry’s top lobbyist’. He has been covered extensively by a variety of national, state and local media outlets such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, NPR, CNBC, MSNBC, San Francisco Chronicle, Rolling Stone and Los Angeles Times.
