A technologist, Kory has been in the communications industry for the past 23years. Starting as an Electronic Technician in the US Coast Guard to the present day as an engineer at Cox Communications
With duties that have ranged from climbing towers and repairing high powered RF transmitters, to building headends and satellite dishes, Kory's experience is extremely broad.
Kory was the first full time Video On Demand administrator at Cox Communications, a position which he helped define company wide. Kory also helped to define and create a process for content management that resulted in the creation of a full time team to handle that task.
Currently, Kory serves as an expert engineer at the corporate engineering center for Cox Communications. More than just an advisory role, Kory often works hands on with products ranging from Controllers (DAC) to edge equipment installed in MTCs and STCs. Recently Kory has been involved in the first North American deployment of Remote PHY (R-PHY) and has led the charge in virtualizing both the DAC6000 and CASMR controllers on a VMWare platform.
Kory has also worked extensively with CTAM to help define industry standards to content presentation and consumption. Kory is also a longtime member of SCTE, engaging in conferences and symposiums that aim to improve the operations of the cable industry.
Kory is also an Engineer in the Game Production department at Mercedes Benz Stadium where he supports camera operation, shading, POV, and all aspects of live game production.
Outside of work Kory has served on the Board of Directors the Cherokee Youth Football Association and the Cherokee Youth Basketball organization and is an Assistant Varsity Basketball coach at Allatoona High School.
Before taking on a role in the Communications Industry, Kory worked in the Sports Operations department for the Norfolk Tides and Harbor Park. In addition, Kory became a professional Public Address Announcer at the age of 17 after an injury and has continued to volunteer in that space for local Football and Charity Softball events.
Kory also is an amateur powerlifter, occasional tri-athlete, part-time crossfitter, and a frequent participant in the annual Peachtree Road Race.
