In addition to publications, Bill has been a featured leadership speaker at national conventions including the 2022 Pipe Fabrication Institute Conference speaking on the “Global Supply Chain Challenges & Energy Industry Impact”, the 2020 OPEX Exchange Americas Convention speaking on, “Culture, Policy, and Practice: Why Organizations Fail to Perform and Considerations for Building a Sustainable Operational Strategy”, and at the 2019 NASPD National Convention as a keynote speaker on “Ethics and Leadership in the Modern Era”. Bill has lectured at institutions including: The George Washington University, University of Michigan, Louisiana Tech University, The University of Central Florida, Florida Gulf Coast University, Michigan State University, The University of San Diego, and is the creator and instructor for Ashland University's MBA Seminar "Leading Organizations, People, and Change". Since 2015, Mr. Kotcher has been honored to participate in Detroit’s Homecoming expat event established to promote economic investment and leadership in Detroit and the State of Michigan. In conjunction with his civic engagements, Bill served as an Industry Fellow from 2013-2021 teaching Ethics at the University of Houston-Downtown MBA program.
From 2012 to 2014, Bill served on the Board of the International Institute of Advanced Purchasing and Supply and received the honor of Lifetime Fellow in 2014. Previously to IIAPS, he served on the Supply Chain Board of Advisors at St. John’s University, the United Way of Philadelphia Funds Allocation Board, and on the Board of Advisors for the book “The Complete Guide to Sales Force Incentive Compensation” published in 2006 by AMACOM.
Bill holds a B.A. in Materials and Logistics Management from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University, an MBA in International Business from Rosemont College, and a US Copyright on his proprietary negotiation program called “Multi-Disciplinary Negotiations”.
