Kyriakos Koursaris

I am a passionate leader at the intersection of educational technology, music education, and STEM innovation. As Head of Technology and SLT member at United Lisbon International School in Portugal, I drive technology-rich learning environments, spearhead curricular innovation, and empower faculty through training. Additionally, I oversee our Microsoft Showcase School Program, leveraging the Education Transformation Framework to integrate tech seamlessly into education. With a Music Education & Didactics degree and a Masters in Choir Conducting from Charles University, plus a post-graduate specialization in Technologies and Robotics from the University of Lisbon, I bring a unique blend of creativity and technical expertise to my work.

My career spans designing Portugal’s largest iPad 1-to-1 initiative, teaching IGCSE Computer Science, and a decade as a K-12 music educator. I’m a recognized advocate for gender diversity in coding and STEM, and I pioneered the use of Minecraft as a educational tool on a national and international level. As a speaker, I’ve shared insights at E2 Education Exchange, BETT, ECIS, TEDxLarnaca, and even the European Parliament, with features in RTP, Público, Edsurge, and more.

I’m proud to be a SingularityU Portugal Faculty member, MIE Expert and Fellow, Microsoft Certified Educator, Minecraft Global Mentor, EU Code Week Leading Teacher, and Google Certified Educator.
