My heart and passion has always been with teaching for what seems like my entire life. I want to not only be a great teacher, but to also change my students’ lives and build them to their full potential. I am committed to motivating students through an engaging, rigorous and well-rounded learning environment that not only challenges students in a student-centered environment, but also lights a fire for them to be lifelong learners.

I am currently the Data Assessment Coordinator at the Indian Community School where I administer and analyze data from all school assessment programs, coordinate our intervention program, guide teachers through the PLC process, and serve as an Instructional Coach.

Prior to my work at ICS, I taught 7th grade Math and Science at Forest Park Middle School in Franklin, WI. During my time there I served as the Interim Associate Principal in the Fall of 2020. This experience broadened my understanding of what it means to be a highly effective school leader who keeps staff and student well-being at the forefront of every decision.

I taught 5th grade and was a Professional Learning Community Coach at W.A. Johnson Elementary School in Bensenville, IL during my first five years as an educator.

I earned my Master of Arts in Principalship from Concordia University Chicago in August 2018. I also received certification to evaluate teachers through PERA. My Capstone was based on Numeracy Consultants Interventions and Supports and included a professional development plan that I developed and implemented. My Literature Review included research on Autonomy Supportive Teaching and its effects on academic success and social-emotional learning.

I graduated from Illinois State University in May of 2014 with a 4.0 cumulative GPA and received Summa Cum Laude honors. My last year at ISU I had the opportunity to be an intern in the Professional Development School Program. PDS is a year-long opportunity for educators to teach in three different grade levels at three diverse school buildings. In my Spring semester, I student taught at Fox Creek Elementary in a 5th grade classroom. At ISU, as part of the Alternative Breaks program, I had the opportunity to take a service trip to Ghana. While there I taught in 4 different orphanages.

In high school I was awarded the Golden Apple Scholarship. This prestigious institution prepares and supports teachers to work in underprivileged populations. I am eternally grateful for Golden Apple's support.
