I am a creative spirit, who works on trying to be a better person everyday. How I choose to be creative varies from day to day, because I refuse to put limits on myself. It may be writing, painting, singing, cooking, baking, knitting, or learning a new computer programming language.
I love interacting with everyone here on about.me but I have not been able to be on lately because of some major life struggles with my family. We were evicted from our home. My husband, my son and I are currently living in a motel. I am fortunate enough to be making enough money to be able to afford the $300 a week that this costs, and for a friend who is allowing me to use her home as a place to work my remote job during the day.
I started with a wonderful program called freecodecamp.com that teaches coding skills and allows students to volunteer for non-profits to expand and refine their skills so they can find employment. The program is a free, self paced, online situation, so I am being able to continue my goal of changing careers.
But there is nothing easy about our current situation, as I am finding, being the only financial support for my family at this time, that it is very difficult to save the required money for a security deposit on a new home. I began a GoFundMe.com campaign in the hopes of raising the money for a security deposit so that we can have a home of our own again. We are normal people.
There are have been really huge struggles in the last couple of years. Mental health crisis, suicide attempts, a short separation, the death of one of my husbands children, as well as dozens of other smaller crisis. These are challenges that anyone might face. Though daunting, we have not given up and continue to fight.
Thank you to all that send well wishes, prayers, good energy, and hope our way. If you feel in your heart to contribute to the campaign that my Mother has set up it would be truly appreciated. You can go to gofundme.com/krachtusfamilyhome and read about us, our situation and decide if you would like to help. All help is appreciated, including sharing the link to the campaign on your personal social networking sites. The more people we can reach, the more likely we are to succeed.
It was not an easy decision for us to take this route. We are very resourceful self reliant people, and do not easily ask for help. This is about our son, and giving him the secure stable environment he deserves. Thank you!
