Serving as chief archivist with the College of William and Mary, Kraig Culbertson oversees the Rare Books Collection at the Williamsburg, Virginia institution’s G. Swem Library. Among the services Kraig Culbertson oversees are assistance with rare books and manuscripts, including those within the William and Mary Archives. He is also responsible for managing digital collections records and Special Collections user-account information.
Before taking his current position in 2006, Mr. Culbertson served as associate librarian at Princeton University for a decade and worked within the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections. In the mid-1990s, he also gained two years of experience as an intern archivist of medieval artifacts at the Cluny Museum in Paris.
Mr. Culbertson attended high school in Alexandria, Virginia, and earned his bachelor’s degree in art history at the University of Richmond. Along with a passion for Renaissance literature, Kraig Culbertson enjoys activities such as sailing and lawn croquet in his free time.
