DMT (Dance/movement therapy)is the psychotherapeutic use of movement and dance to support intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical wellness and health.

I grew up dancing - a gift from my choreographer mom. Inspired by my classical training, Slavic performance traditions, and later by my travels of North, South and Central America, I wanted to create a healing practice for the modern folks. I am currently working with a mix of movement meditation techniques with dance and performance principles.

On stage since age 4; acting, gymnastics and dance all through school; 6 years of higher education - first at the University of Culture and Arts in Kiev, Ukraine and then at UCLA Theatre, Film, Television School. Shows, tours, lights. Good times. But after 3 years of living in LA, I became completely disillusioned with the entertainment industry in its traditional sense. Moneymaking (read: surviving) was the focal point of all expression, with constant compromises and unhealthy competition. I felt less and less connected to myself, and the idea of this becoming my life’s work did not feel right to me at all. I left LA.

While traveling in Bali, I stopped to dance in the rice fields. Only there, after 22 years of all my experiences with professional performance, international customs, and indigenous dance traditions, I saw the true purpose of the ever-elusive concept of "creative self-expression”. I felt how important it has been and still is for the health and well-being of any and every human. Moving through space in authentic creative ways can help one find a sense of peace and power - two essentials for living a healthy, happy life. It produces vital energy in the individual and their relationship to the world.
