Square dancing is fun! I discovered this in 1990, after years of two-stepping and international folk dancing.

Modern Western Square Dancing came first, and I enjoy calling smooth, interesting, danceable choreography.

Then I started moving back in time, looking at precursors to the modern style. Traditional western squares, New England squares...they're all fun and have a place in presenting a fun and varied square dance program.

I started calling contras about 10 years ago, and enjoy the totally different style of presenting the dance and then backing off so the dancers can move to the music.
