Check out the video posted above! It is all about students telling their teachers how the way they are learning is changing and how teachers should change the way the present the curriculum to students. I can reflect on this video because I feel that I have grown as a learner by recognizing more than ever how important it is to integrate technology into the classroom and to provide learning opportunities for students who learn in different ways. Thus far in the course, I have been able to benefit from the information shared between collogues about how they approach various situations, things they have been able to discover over the time that they have been teaching and I have been able to reflect on my own teaching practice and how I can reach out even further to students with special needs in my classroom. Through LE 1, I was able to look at special education and how inclusion is becoming a larger component of the everyday classroom setting. LE 2 provided me with the background knowledge of the history of special education, which was helpful in understanding where special education has come from and how it has changes within the last 100 years. LE 3 furthered my knowledge of creating and implementing a positive learning environment and how to make the environment reflect the needs of the students in my classroom. The final LE 4 helped me to reflect and refine my skills for developing an Individual Education Plan. Overall, this course has provided me with current and relevant information about how to support students with special needs in a classroom.
