Outraged by the actions of several corporate for-profit banks, I reached out in the language every Millennial is fluent in— Facebook. Consumers responded en masse. Bank Transfer Day resulted in one of the largest consumer migrations in American history. In addition to inspiring half a dozen similar movements across the globe, CUNA attributed half of a million new credit union members in October 2011 to this movement, and American Banker reported that 6 million Americans changed the way they banked in the first year since my efforts began. While continuing to advocate for consumer empowerment & economic sustainability, I offer lectures and consultations to help co-operatives connect with their communities through organic social strategies.
