But I can never have enough.

My debut collection, MAMMAL ROOM, is just out from SpringGun Press. After graduating from the MFA Program for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I started my work in non-profit development and communications at 826 Boston, a youth writing and tutoring center based on the model founded by Dave Eggers in San Francisco.

You can find my poetry and criticism in Denver Quarterly, iO: A Journal of New American Poetry, Kenyon Review Online, and other journals. I've been lucky enough to receive a Pushcart Prize nomination and was a finalist for the Fine Arts Work Center Poetry Fellowship in Provincetown, MA.

In addition to teaching creative writing and composition at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for five years, I was the assistant managing editor of the poetry journal jubilat and an assistant director of the Juniper Literary Festival.

I love working with writers of all stripes and genres, and I'm always looking for the next best thing to read or write. Contact me about book reviews, readings, freelancing, or to ask for more information about my work at akristenevans at gmail dot com.
