I started my HR career at the Pentagon as a Human Resources Specialist for the Air Force. In 2011, I made the tough decision to relocate to San Diego before securing another job. What would happen next would be a two year struggle to break back into the HR field. In 2013, I took a chance on a 4 month temporary Receptionist/HR Assistant assignment that quickly turned into a promotion as the HR Benefits Coordinator. In 2014, I was able to land a job as a Benefits Analyst with Sempra Energy.

I have a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech, and I am one course away from completely my Human Resource Management certificate from San Diego State University. I look forward to getting my PHR and CEBS in the next few years.

This year I decided to become an active member of the San Diego Society for Human Resource Management (SDSHRM) and have joined the Membership Committee. Recently, I took on a leadership role as a Co-chair for a student outreach subcommittee. The focus of this role is identifying and executing opportunities to engage students to promote the value of SDSHRM membership.
