Teacher and Musician in Kingston, Ontario, Canada

I am a Kingston, Ontario, Canada-based teacher and musician from Lindsay, ON, who is interested in music, French, education, travel, agriculture / sustainability, swimming, and running.

A firm believer in finding the good in everyone and in every situation, I channel my energy and enthusiasm into developing a positive career in education and music focused on continuous growth and inspiring joy, compassion, and curiosity.

I am an Honours Bachelor of Music graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University where I studied vocal performance, music education, and French.

I hold a Bachelor of Education degree from Queens's University in Intermediate / Senior education in music and French, with a specialization in education abroad.

As an educator, I believe in the power of a growth mindset and student-centred learning. Inclusivity and the importance of lifelong learning are at the foundation of my teaching philosophy. My goal is to help build a welcoming classroom and school community for all learners. I am passionate about the French language and francophone culture, and I believe that the value of an education in the arts is innumerable.

As a classically-trained professional musician, I have a passion for Romantic music and early music, especially the music of Debussy, Mozart, and Purcell. I am also well-versed in the music of numerous other genres including: folk, celtic, country, rock, indie, pop, blues, and music theatre, which I regularly perform as a member of the duo, Ocean Bound.
