My name is Kristen Herrero. I am proud to day that I was born and raised in the great city of New Orleans.

Who am I professionally?

I am currently a junior at Loyola University pursuing a double major in Business Management and Marketing. Marketing has peaked my interest, especially social media and online marketing. I am currently learning about search engine optimization and trying to get certified in Google AdWords. I see marketing as a big DIY project where you get a chance to interact with customers at a more personal level by bringing valuable content to them. I also work very hard to maintain good grades and I am extremely active in my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. You can check out my LinkedIn for more info.

But Who Am I?

I would say that I am a kid stuck in a grown up's body but people think that I look like a 15 year old. Just like many other millennials, I enjoy watching Netflix. I honestly think that it takes true dedication to watch so many shows. I have always been attracted to watching TV though. As as kid I have always watched cartoons such as Dragon Ball Z and many other popular TV shows. For some awesome reason I never grew out of the habit of watching cartoons and shows. That is why I would like to work for an animation or television company as a convention coordinator, manager, or digital marketer in the future. I also love to cosplay and attend conventions. One time I actually won a PS4 when I went to one!

My goal in life has always been to entertain people and make them happy. I like figuring out what people like and bringing that content to them. If you ask me where I see myself in 5 years, my main hope would be that I am working in a casual work environment where I can have fun with my coworkers and encourage each other. Work should not feel like work if I am surrounded by great company.

How has New Orleans inspired me?

New Orleans is known for its culture, food, booze, and hospitality. Although New Orleans has taught me to have a good time she has shown me the importance of resilience and community. I have been #blessed to have seen many people come together and help one another. One of my main drives to be successful is to help contribute any kind of resource that I can to help the youth in New Orleans. Being a kid is tuff and having one person as a mentor or even just being a friendly face will impact those kids forever.
