After seven years as a seventh grade English teacher, I left my job to spend my days with my son and rediscovered the joy and power of writing. I am in the editing phase of my first book, tentatively titled The Dark in the Song.
The Dark in the Song is about my journey of finding God in the dark places through contemplative practices. Through years of infertility, the challenges of new motherhood, and the risk of transition I learned to let go and found myself caught, held by the love of God in a way I'd never experienced before. In my unwinding, I was made whole.
A Midwest native, I now live in San Francisco's East Bay, where my family and I are part of the Open Door Community.
