Kristian Winfield is an NBA staff writer and credentialed reporter covering the New York Knicks for SB Nation, a Vox Media property. He studied broadcast journalism at Hampton University, where he graduated as the editor-in-chief of the school's newspaper.

His media experience includes stints with Bleacher Report, NBC Sports, The Center for Public Integrity, About.com, Vh1's Black Ink Crew, Verizon FiOS' go90 app, Elite Sports NY and the Brooklyn Daily Eagle newspaper.

Kristian's short-term goals include becoming a go-to source for breaking NBA news and launching a journalism program at his high school alma mater, Benjamin Banneker Academy, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Later down the line, he plans on making the jump into an NBA front office in a player/personnel decision-making role, joining or launching a mentorship program to give back to high school and college graduates. He also wants to follow his mother's footsteps as a property owner across multiple states.

Outside of sports, Kristian enjoys turn-ups of all shapes and sizes, including networking events, happy hours and good, ole' fashioned parties. He likes to travel, cook, workout and have a good time.

He is believed to be one of the best Spades players on this side of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Kristian hails from BedStuy, Brooklyn -- not Stuyvesant Heights. You can follow him on Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat.
