I grew up in a small town in Northern Michigan where I learned to fish, ski and ride horses. I was very interested in both biology and art throughout my childhood. During my early schools years I was enrolled in after school art classes at the local museum where I learned how to paint in oils. My favorite subject matter was of course nature and animals. Upon graduation from High School I decided to attend Michigan State University to study Biology and ride for the MSU equestrian team. My dreams of becoming a biologist soon turned into dreams of becoming an artist and I quickly changed paths, graduating with honors with a degree in Fine Art. After undergrad, I went to live and work in Chicago. During my 10 yrs in Chicago I worked as a designer and art director at large companies. I always kept fine art in my life and was able to do so by becoming a docent at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. In 2009 I moved to New Jersey where I now live and work. I continue to work as a designer, draw as much as I can and fit in a horse ride in my spare time.
