Kristin Cruz was the longtime co-host of the beloved Mark & Kristin Morning Show on heritage Los Angeles radio station KOST 103.5 FM—one of the most coveted morning radio seats in the country.
A Los Angeles native and alumna of the prestigious LA County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), Kristin began her career as an actress and journalist, appearing in television series including VR Troopers and independent films while represented by the Daniel Hoff Agency. As a writer for Ray Gun,Bikini, andBUZZ, she emerged during the 1990s music video boom, producing projects with award-winning directors around the world during MTV’s golden era.
She went on to pitch and launch the music video division of Quentin Tarantino’s Miramax shingle, A Band Apart, representing directors including Quentin Tarantino, McG, and Steve Carr. SOme of her favorite projects include music videos for artists such as Jay-Z, N.W.A, Moby, Shaggy, Metallica, Slipknot, Will Smith, and Elliott Smith’s Academy Award–nominated song“Miss Misery.”
Kristin Cruz later became Sr Director at Priority Records and Executive Producer across film companies in LA, NY and London, where she packaged and produced the box office hit You Got Served(Sony/Melee Ent)—a defining cultural touchstone of the early 2000s hip-hop dance movement.
Her proudest moment was becoming a Mom while co-hosting mornings drive at KOST, which led to her creating the non-profit Moms in Media & Entertainment, to address the lack of suppot for working mothers in Hollywood. At the forefront of LA’s modern motherhood movement, she created and hosted iHeartMedia’smom-focussed The Sunday Journal on-air and launched its first parenting platform online: The Mommy Blog.
Kristin Cruz became a sought-after voice in the space, and while championing motherhood she filled in LIVE! for Kelly Ripa, joined NBC’sToday Show Parenting Team, seen regularly contributing on news programs at CNN, KTLA, CBSand brought to D.C. to speak on Capitol Hill. She regularly moderated at top conferences and lead family-focused panels with experts and advocates like Dr. Harvey Karp, Anna Getty, Camila Alves McConaughey, Brooke Burke, Jessica Bieland other local celebrity mompreneurs.
What began as a personal passion organically positioned Kristin at the forefront of the mom-influencer era, evolving into her media and PR company, momtourage®. Through it, she hosted campaigns for The Walt Disney Company, Marvel, and Discovery Channel, and moderated a WonderCon panel for Marvel Rising, a female-driven franchise designed to engage a new generation of audiences.
Today, Kristin focuses on family life, homeschooling, and select creative projects while remaining a trusted connector and advisor within the entertainment industry.
