Kristina Bray

Hi, my name is Kristina Bray. I’m a graduate student at Fullsail University in the New Media Journalism program. This program caught my eye because it’s very similar to my undergraduate program. In May of 2012 I graduated from Mississippi Valley State University, with honors, with a B.A. in Mass Communications, broadcast emphasis.

During my undergraduate studies, I worked fulltime as a Senior technical director and my hometown television station WXVT-TV. While here I had the opportunity to work in all aspects of the station. This not only helped me in my undergraduate studies but my graduate studies as well.

Being in the broadcast news field for six years, has helped me develop and better my skills. I have experience as a photog, editor, reporter, and almost every aspect of pre and postproduction.

Since childhood, I knew I wanted to be involved in broadcast news. Although I feel my degree was crucial, I think the most important training I received was from my first job at WXVT-TV. It’s a small market television station, which allowed me to explore all the different sides of Journalism.

Mywayofsayingit.com is a website I developed to share some of my work. There are a range of different stories on this website. Political news, national news, and local news can all be found here. One of my favorite stories was the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
