Kristin Leigh

Kristin joined FOX13 news in August 2015 as a reporter and multimedia journalist.

Before moving to Memphis, Kristin was an assignment editor at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. After nearly three years working behind a desk, Kristin was anxious to head out into the community as a reporter. News is an unpredictable business. Kristin enjoys meeting new people every day and never knowing where each day will take her or what story she’ll find.

Kristin was born and raised in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She’s happy to be in Memphis where she can still call the South, with all of its amazing food, home. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Media and Journalism. Go Heels!

A free spirit with the travel bug, Kristin enjoys exploring new cities at home in the United States and abroad. She covered the audio-visual (AV) industry for an international publication, Rave Publications. As a reporter for Rave, Kristin was able to visit Amsterdam, Paris, Prague and more. She’s anxious to knock a few more places off her bucket list soon.

Growing up on the East Coast, Kristin loves spending time at North Carolina’s Crystal Coast in the summer; but the waterfront along the Mississippi River is a great alternate. Kristin is enjoying getting to know the people in Memphis, and she’s excited to call Memphis home.
