Kristof De Baets

I started working as an ICU and EMS-nurse and in my spare time i was a firefighter at Borsbeek Fire Department as a volunteer wich i am still now. After 7 years of hospitalwork i realised that firefighting was my thing and i started as a professional firefighter in the Antwerp Fire department where now i am a sergeant. I am specialized in emergency diving / dispatching / EMS.

In 2013 the antwerp fire department together with the Beveren and Gent FD, as a belgian partner stepped in to a european project to create a MiRG-EU team. MiRG stands for Maritime Incident Response Group and it's main goal is to board a ship in case of emergency and to control a situation (fire, HAZMAT a.o.) so it can go safely to port.

Since 2012 i am also trained as a USAR-Medic for the B-Fast team.

Since 2013 i'm also a member of Red Knights Motorcycle Club® Belgium 3
